JaldiDM retains user data only as long as necessary to provide services and comply with legal obligations. This page provides detailed timelines for each data type and how to request deletion.

Retention Policy Overview
We follow a data minimization principle: collecting only necessary data and retaining it no longer than required. Key principles include:
- Data is retained only while actively serving a business purpose
- Users can request deletion at any time (subject to legal holds)
- Deleted data is purged from active systems within 7–10 business days
- Backups may retain data for up to 30 days for disaster recovery
- Some data is retained longer due to legal, tax, or regulatory requirements

Message Data Retention
Message data includes DMs, comments, and metadata. Retention varies by data type:

Data Deletion Process
Account Deletion
- Go to Settings → Delete Account
- Confirm deletion request
- Account is immediately deactivated and marked for deletion
- All data is removed from active systems within 7–10 business days
- Confirmation email is sent upon completion
Manual Data Deletion
You can manually delete individual conversations or request bulk deletion:
- Individual messages can be deleted from the inbox
- Bulk deletion of all messages can be requested via Dashboard → Privacy
- Deletion requests are processed within 24 hours

Backup & Disaster Recovery
We maintain daily backups for disaster recovery and business continuity:
- Backups are retained for up to 30 days after deletion
- Backup data is encrypted and stored separately from production systems
- In case of accidental deletion, data can be recovered within 30 days
- After 30 days, deleted data is permanently removed from all systems including backups
- Backup retention is automated and does not override deletion requests
